The first appointment for new clients is scheduled for 90 minutes to provide enough time to complete health history forms, perform an orthopaedic assessment, discuss treatment goals, complete a treatment, and give self-care recommendations. This process allows us to tailor the massage therapy session and future plans to your needs and preferences.

After the massage treatment portion of the appointment, you may be provided with some self-care recommendations to help prolong the benefits of your massage.

Recommendations may consist of:

Stretching exercises

Postural recommendations

Patients are always draped with a sheet and/or blanket, only exposing the areas being worked on. Being a “client centered” practice means that the patient is always in complete control of the session. For example, if the pressure, speed, or techniques employed are not the right fit for you, modifications will be made according to your feedback.

All feedback will be listened to, taken seriously, and acted upon, including non-verbal feedback. All therapies and techniques will be explained fully and only performed after obtaining informed consent.
